    I found this wonderful camphor slab at a local Rockler and decided to keep the live edge by using epoxy, but didn't want a river table, so used a subdued grey-brown color. Thanks to Vic Tesolin, my woodworking teacher, for the many pointers and design suggestions he provided along the way.

    I made toy swords for my nephew with some scrap pieces. Blade is poplar and redwood. Handle is padauk for the guard, walnut and purpleheart for the grip and tigerwood for the pommel.
