    I was inspired to make a shoe rack bench this week, mixing a few designs I saw online. No aged walnut in my lowly garage shop, so I settled for pine and 2x4s from Home Depot (special walnut stain if that counts). The lights are a Philips Hue strip reused from old TV bias lighting.

    My grandpa spent years building a cabin by the lake. Before he passed away, he gave it to his family to enjoy. I'm always in his workshop, woodworking, when I'm here. Cheers grandpa!

    Took four tries to produce a joint I'm truely proud of. All hand tools, no guide used. The unequal spacing between the tails is killing me tho!

    My hand saw skills are poor and I get too aggressive with chisels when trying to cover up poorly cut lines. But I’m getting closer. (I think this is try number 4, pictures before and after glue and sawdust to fill some gaps)
