You don’t need to qualify your work.

    Posted: 20 Jul 2020 08:05 PM PDT

I'm 100% guilty of this as well. My first post in here I was scared of more accomplished woodworkers nitpicking my work, so I felt the need to point the flaws before anyone else could find them. I still don't feel comfortable using the term woodworker for myself, cause it feels like I'm posing.

But after seeing countless posts of absolutely beautiful work with some sort of qualifier I feel the need to say you don't need to do it.

You're creating something, you're teaching yourself new skills, you're pushing yourself.

I promise to follow my own advice. Skip the qualifier, post your work, be proud!

Didn't want to cough up $150 for a closet organizer so instead I invested probably $200 and the better part of three weekends making my own from plywood and off the shelf hardware. Also learned SketchUp in the process so totally worth it.
