    Quarantine Project #2 : A Bunk Bed for My Son’s GLASSES

    I wanted somewhere to empty my pockets and put a hat, I'm not sure how this came to be but I'm really happy with it, especially for only using handtools on my apartments 70 square foot balcony.

    I built this stool about a year and a half ago and am just getting around to posting it. The entire thing is made from basswood; the legs are each 41 laminated strips and the seat and feet are solid pieces that were carved/milled. Link to the design and build process in the comments.

    A few days after I moved home from college due to Covid,l I got the news my best friend committed suicide. Making things is the only thing keeping me relatively sane. I made this cabinet/ shrine thing to hold pictures and mementos of him. First project I’m truly proud of.

    You all are making amazing, well joined pieces that look like works of art. Here's my quarentine weight rack made out of 3 fence posts, 2 pallets, 4 horseshoes and a few hundred nails and wood glue.

    My dad, 72, is having open heart surgery early tomorrow morning. I've been really anxious because due to the coronavirus, I can't be there with him. So today, I kept myself distracted by building a cedar planter box. I didn't have plans, just ran with it. Pretty pleased.
