    A Covid Nurse She Shed

    Posted: 08 Sep 2021 03:15 PM PDT

My wife is a 30+ years critical care nurse. Covid caused a lot of anxiety for her, because she took care of the sickest cases in the ICU. We had talked about a she shed for a while and decided this was a good time to build it. Took her mind off her patients and gave her something to look forward to. It could also be a quarantine spot if she needed it. I am a cabinetmaker, not a construction carpenter so go easy on me. It is 8x10' and setting on pier blocks. I used a lot of salvage materials: pier blocks, windows from a WWII barracks, door from Craigslist, insulation from a church remodel. Flooring was cdx ply turned into V tongue in groove with a router cutter. Chandelier from Craigslist. I built louvers with doors instead of operable windows just for fun. I built all the cabinets, bench cushions and did all the finishing and painting. She loves it and so do the grand kids. I am in the dog house with other husbands, but I had fun!
