Wood working Built in bookshelf build! |
- Built in bookshelf build!
- Marvel Mayhem. Made from different woods. All natural-No stains or dyes. Collaboration with Tom Whalen. 3’x2’.
- Sofa armrest table
- Princess castle themed bookshelf for my daughter. She's happy!
- Ash from The Evil Dead. All cut on the scroll saw. Birch and pine.
- My first attempt at turning a tumbler. I think I did a good job considering that I don't have a bowl gouge. What do you all think? Turned from Honduran mahogany.
- Hoping she’ll say yes (walnut & pine ring box)
- Pool table I made in American ash and ply
- Black walnut MCM inspired table
- First real piece of furniture I've made
- Axe I forged and handled. It’s got flaws but overall it’s not too bad I think. 2 lb head on a 19 inch hickory handle. They head is mild steel with a farriers rasp forge welded for the cutting edge.
- A new dining room table.
- Big-ass dining table I built at work
- A couple 24" patterned plywood table tops I made for the brewery I work at
- I made my first woodworking mallet using purpleheart and lead fishing sinkers for weight. I'm calling it Mario's Hammer.
- Made my first cutting board this weekend with walnut, hickory, and cherry. Super happy with how it turned out, and I have an end grain one glued up right now.
- Restored a friend's Grandfather's Block Plane
- Something a little different. Wanted the garden gate to match the fence style. Made it out of 2x4s and then used a wood grinding wheel to make it look half round.
- Bluetooth radio for my son’s birthday.
- Don’t be like me, be careful. I’m getting a saw stop since my adhd and table saws apparently don’t mix.
- Update to previous post, apparently glueing and sanding do a hell of a job hiding the mistakes from the first attempt.
- Cherry Shaker nightstand I made. My first time tapering legs.
- Step 2, make wood useful
- First chair!!!

Posted: 30 May 2021 05:51 PM PDT So I was making some dice boxes and a desk yesterday. I went to grab the angled off cut from the back of the blade on my table saw and my finger bumped the blade. Thankfully it was the back of the blade so my finger got tossed up and away instead of getting pulled further in but it was a wake up call none the less. I had been making some non 90 boxes so didn't have the blade guard on. I still have all 10 fingers. Learn from me, use the blade guard whenever possible. Of course today I was making more non 90 degree boxes but had the blade guard on for every other cut. Imgur album has 2 pics. One to make sure the mobile app doesn't show my scrapped finger and the second is my finger. I'm damn lucky but spending $1400 on the saw stop job site saw. $1400 is cheaper than my deductible for an amputation or reattachment. Imgur album https://imgur.com/a/ZfjI0N6 [link] [comments] | ||
