My covid 19 project! Also my first reddit post Posted: 18 Jul 2020 07:43 AM PDT |
Growing up, my dream was to be a “wooder” (carpenter). I’m 27 and have always been too intimidated to start. I mentioned that I’d love a table to my dad and he said “F*** it, let’s just build one!” Thanks to him and his encouragement, we finished our first woodworking project! I’m so proud of it. Been out of it for a while since my mentor got ill (not covid) and closed the shop. But I figured I would post where I left off with a pair of Philedelphia side chairs I was working on before the pandemic hit. Posted: 18 Jul 2020 07:04 PM PDT |
My dad used an Alaskan chain saw mill to cut this piece of Cherry out when I was just a kid. He’s all gone now. I put it into a mantle in my house last year. You can see every inch of his struggle to cut that wood. Miss my old man... I do, Posted: 18 Jul 2020 07:53 PM PDT |

Got me a rusty old planer off Craigs List. Guy left it out in the rain, but the blades are still sharp (I cut myself pretty bad) . Rebuilt it and got it to slide on the guide bars again. Cuts boards great now! Not bad for $50. Posted: 18 Jul 2020 06:35 PM PDT |
